Organic Souls 22 Kefir recipe

Ingredients per 900 ml

200g cashews

Approx 500 ml Mineral water

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

Pinch of Himalayan salt

4 x probiotics - do not blend these only hand whisk them in after - link for the best probiotics we can find is below and we list them on our non profit website for you.

Equipment needed 

Smoothie blender (ie nutrininja or Nutribullet) With 500 ml or 1 L cups.

Hand whisk

1L sealed glass Container (we use kilner jars)

Directions

Pre soak the nuts in mineral water for 8 hours. Keep covered away from direct sunlight.

After 8 hours drain the water and put the nuts, salt, vinegar and water into a smoothie cup and blend until smooth. Note you’re topping the soaked nuts to 900 ml. You can do this in 2 x 500 ml smoothie cups just half the ingredients and top the water up to 450 ml.

When blended pour mixture into a glass container and gently whisk in the probiotics clockwise and anticlockwise. Put the lid on the container put a piece of kitchen roll in the lid to stop any condensation drips and leave in a dark place around 20 degrees for 24 - 36 hours. 36 hours is normally a thicker consistency.

You now have Home made Vegan Kefir.

Full of probiotics, minerals, vitamins, digestive enzymes, good fats, high quality protein and you get the most Amazing benefits.

Use Organic Cashews ideally but where we live they are to expensive so we get them from Lidl and they always seem ok.

Feel free to use alternatives but these are the best probiotics we can find for this and we’ve tried many.
